What it does

When installed, the agent can send local design files (PNG, JPG, WebP images, HTML pages, or markdown docs) to a Stitch project without struggling with the size limits that make direct MCP tool uploads fail. It does this by running a bundled Python script that reads the file and sends it over HTTP to the Stitch API. Before uploading, the agent is instructed to find the user's Stitch API key in local config files and to show the user which files will be uploaded and get explicit approval first.

Great for

  • Designers who want to bring mockups or exported screens into a Stitch project
  • Developers who extracted HTML from a web app and want each route shown as a Stitch screen
  • Anyone whose direct Stitch MCP uploads fail or truncate on larger files

Skip it if

  • Users who do not want an agent reading local MCP config files to find an API key, since the skill directs the agent to do this
  • Sensitive or confidential files, because the contents are sent over the network to the Stitch API once approved
  • Non-Stitch workflows, since the skill only targets Stitch projects

Try asking

  • “Upload the mockup at ./designs/checkout.png to my Stitch project abc123”
  • “Upload the extracted HTML pages in ./extracted as screens, titling each by its route path”
  • “Send my design-system.md notes to the Stitch project for reference”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Upload to StitchInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    upload-to-stitch.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip upload-to-stitch.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip upload-to-stitch.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Review the file list the agent presents at the confirmation checkpoint before approving, and avoid uploading files with secrets or private data.
  • Set --title to the page route (for example /dashboard) when uploading extracted HTML so screens are easy to identify in Stitch.
  • If you hit an SSL certificate error on macOS, install certifi with pip or set SSL_CERT_FILE as the skill describes.
