What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent to read a project description or requirements brief and turn it into a structured planning file called .stitch/SITE.md. That file covers the project's name, mission, audience, voice, visual mood, folder layout, a page-by-page sitemap, and a prioritized task backlog, so later coding iterations in the Stitch Build Loop stay on the same scope and style. The skill is a set of written instructions only; it contains no scripts.

Great for

  • Developers starting a website or web app with Google Stitch who want a written project plan for the agent to follow
  • Product owners or designers who have a requirements brief and want it organized into a consistent planning document
  • Teams running multi-iteration AI-assisted builds that need a persistent project memory file

Skip it if

  • Projects that do not use the Stitch Build Loop, since the SITE.md format is specific to that workflow and gives little benefit elsewhere
  • Situations where a brief contains confidential or sensitive details that should not be written into a project file the agent can read and share
  • Users expecting the skill to generate the website itself; it only produces the planning document

Try asking

  • “Read my requirements brief in docs/brief.md and create a SITE.md for this portfolio site”
  • “Analyze this project description and draft the sitemap and prioritized backlog for the Stitch Build Loop”
  • “Turn these notes about our bakery landing page into a .stitch/SITE.md with a visual vibe and file structure”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    site-md.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip site-md.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip site-md.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Provide a complete, written brief so the mission, audience, and sitemap are grounded in real requirements rather than guesses.
  • Include the Stitch Project ID if one already exists; otherwise the skill inserts a placeholder you must fill in.
  • Review the generated SITE.md before the build loop starts, since later iterations will treat it as the project constitution.
