What it does

This skill makes the agent act as a requirements analyst. Given a fuzzy idea or feature request, it asks a few focused clarifying questions, separates must-have from nice-to-have features, writes user stories with testable acceptance criteria, and flags edge cases, security-sensitive areas and compliance concerns. The output is a structured written report rather than code, so other people or agents can build from it without guessing.

Great for

  • Product managers or founders who need a clear spec before a developer starts work
  • Developers scoping a new feature who want edge cases and open questions surfaced early
  • Teams using a multi-agent squad workflow where a planning step consumes a requirements document

Skip it if

  • Simple tasks where the requirements are already clear, since the report adds overhead without value
  • Anyone expecting code, schemas or architecture suggestions; the skill explicitly avoids these, so it will not help with implementation
  • Compliance-critical projects relying on it as a legal or regulatory authority; it only flags possible GDPR, HIPAA or accessibility concerns and output may be incomplete or inaccurate

Try asking

  • “Analyse this vague idea: a app that helps people split bills and asks what I still need to decide”
  • “Turn these meeting notes into a REX-style requirements report with MoSCoW priorities and user stories”
  • “We are adding a file upload feature to our product; list the edge cases and security-sensitive surfaces”
  • “Re-run the requirements report with this scope change and show only what changed”

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent your rough idea plus any known constraints (platform, users, existing tools) so it asks fewer questions.
  • Ask for a REX REPORT amendment when the scope changes instead of a full rewrite, to keep version history clear.
  • Review the Open Questions section and answer the blocking ones before handing the report to a developer.
