What it does
This is a thin adapter that tells an AI coding agent (such as Codex) to use the larger reverse-skill repository as its guide for security work like reverse engineering, CTF challenges and defensive testing. Once installed, the agent first reads that repository's rules, picks the most suitable specialist playbook for the request, and must create and validate a written scope file before touching any target. The adapter itself contains only instructions; the actual methods live in the separate repository.
Great for
- Security students working through CTF challenges who want a structured, rules-first workflow
- Security engineers doing authorized malware or binary analysis who want scope documentation enforced before work begins
- Teams already using the reverse-skill repository who want Codex to follow it automatically
Skip it if
- Anyone wanting to analyse or attack systems they do not have written permission to test, since the adapter gives no authorization and relies on the user to supply scope
- Users who do not already have the reverse-skill repository available, because the adapter does not bundle the router and will stop and ask them to clone it
Try asking
- “Analyse this ELF binary from my CTF challenge and find the flag, following the repo's routing.”
- “Set up a case for authorized defensive testing of our internal login service and create the scope file.”
- “Which reverse-skill playbook fits a task where I need to unpack a suspicious sample for triage?”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip reverse-skill-router.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip reverse-skill-router.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Open the reverse-skill repository as your workspace before invoking the skill, so RULES.md and the routing config are found.
- Write a clear, honest scope.md describing what you are authorized to test; the skill treats the repo's scope contract as the only source of authorization.
- Review the scripts in the repository before letting the agent run them, since the skill directs the agent to execute them.
