What it does
When installed, the agent acts as a product analyst that interviews a product manager about a feature through a focused conversation. It asks targeted questions about scope, users, behavior, business rules and edge cases, then produces a single SPEC.md with observable GIVEN/WHEN/THEN acceptance criteria, explicit in-scope and out-of-scope lists, and a proof checklist. It deliberately stays out of architecture, timelines and data model decisions, and marks unconfirmed items as draft.
Great for
- Product managers who want a clean, implementable spec from rough notes
- Teams using OpenRig-style slice workflows that keep one requirements file per feature
- Developers or AI agents who need unambiguous requirements to build from
Skip it if
- Teams that only need a quick brainstorm, since the skill runs a structured multi-round process and produces a formal spec format
- Projects not using the SPEC.md / slice conventions, where the output template would need adapting
- Anyone expecting it to make technical design or estimation decisions, which the skill explicitly refuses to do
Try asking
- “I have rough notes about a password reset feature. Turn them into a SPEC.md with acceptance criteria.”
- “Review my existing requirements.md and reconcile it into a SPEC.md for this slice.”
- “Ask me the key scope and business rule questions for a new notifications feature before we write the spec.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Provide background.md or a validation.md first so the agent can skip questions you already answered.
- Answer the business-rule questions carefully; the skill treats these as where bugs usually hide.
- Review the [draft] markers before handing the SPEC.md to developers, since the agent treats the file as literal instructions.
