What it does
It teaches an AI agent how to open groups of OpenRig agents (a whole rig, a pod, a mission, a slice, or a saved view) as live terminal tiles in the herdr terminal multiplexer, using the rig terminal command. Tiles are interactive for rig and pod views and read-only for mission, slice, and cross-rig views, and the agent is told how to read partial results and failures honestly.
Great for
- Developers running multiple OpenRig agent rigs who want to watch or drive them side by side
- Operators who want an agent to open a mission's agents as a read-only monitoring wall
- Teams already using herdr as their terminal surface
Skip it if
- Users without OpenRig installed or without the herdr binary, since the skill only drives the rig CLI and cannot work without it
- Situations where you need to type into agents working on a shared mission or slice, because those views are read-only by design
- Hosts registered over HTTP, which cannot be tiled and are skipped with a reason
Try asking
- “Open all my rigs plus the site-relaunch mission as views”
- “Open the acme-web rig as a terminal wall”
- “Show me the agents working slice search-filters in herdr”
- “List the openable terminal views and check herdr status”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Ask for mission: or slice: views when you want a read-only watch wall, and rig or pod views when you need to type into agents
- Read the --json output to see opened, absent, and degraded seats instead of relying on the exit code alone
- Use same-size panes when showing the same agent in two views, since different sizes cause a known tmux resize mismatch
