What it does

When installed, this skill tells an AI agent how to review code changes in a git repository in a structured way. The open-code-review CLI (ocr) decides which changed files are worth reviewing and which review rules apply to each file, while the agent itself reads the diffs and writes the review comments, instead of OCR calling a separate LLM service. The agent then checks coverage, lists every file as reviewed or skipped with a reason, and reports findings grouped by severity.

Great for

  • Developers who want an AI assistant to review a branch, a commit, or uncommitted workspace changes before merging
  • Teams already using an AI agent that want review driven by the agent's own model rather than a separately configured LLM endpoint
  • People who want a repeatable review checklist that accounts for every changed file

Skip it if

  • Users who need a fully automated review pipeline without an AI agent present, since this mode depends on the host agent doing the reasoning
  • Repositories with sensitive code where the agent's model provider is not approved to see source diffs, since diffs are read and sent to that agent's model
  • Users who expect the skill to verify correctness by running tests; it only reads diffs and optionally applies fixes

Try asking

  • “Review my uncommitted changes in this repo and list any bugs or security issues.”
  • “Review the changes between main and feature-login, grouped by severity, and show coverage.”
  • “Review commit abc123 and fix any High or Critical issues you find.”
  • “Do a code review of this branch with this business context: payments refactor, see docs/context.md.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Open Code Review DelegateInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    open-code-review-delegate.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip open-code-review-delegate.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip open-code-review-delegate.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give a business context with -B or -b so the review reflects intent, not just syntax.
  • Use a branch comparison (--from main --to feature) for pull-request-style reviews, and --exclude to skip generated files.
  • Ask for a fix only after reviewing, and check the diff of any applied fixes yourself.
