What it does
Once installed, the agent reviews a codebase for places where parts of the system meet, such as API routes calling services, services touching the database, and components reading shared state. It checks whether those interactions are tested, suggests or writes integration tests for the critical paths, and flags gaps where CI does not automatically catch regressions. It explains how integration tests differ from unit and end-to-end tests.
Great for
- Developers who want to check whether their key workflows are covered by integration tests
- Teams reviewing whether CI actually enforces their test strategy
- Developers new to the difference between unit, integration and end-to-end testing
Skip it if
- Projects with no test suite or CI setup, since the skill assumes some testing infrastructure exists to review
- Non-developers, because the output is code and test configuration that needs engineering judgment to apply safely
Try asking
- “Review my API routes and services and tell me which integration paths have no tests”
- “Write integration tests for the checkout workflow using a test database”
- “Check our CI config and flag where integration test failures would not block a merge”
- “Explain how integration tests differ from our unit and E2E tests”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip integration-testing.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip integration-testing.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Point the agent at a specific feature or directory so the review stays focused on real integration points.
- Tell the agent which test database or framework you use, since the guidance is general and framework-specific details live in references/rule.md.
- Review any generated tests and CI changes before merging, as the agent may not know your environment.
