What it does

Once installed and invoked with /i-have-adhd, the agent shapes every reply for a reader with ADHD. Answers start with the first action to take, multi-step work becomes short numbered lists, and the agent restates where you are in a task each turn. It also avoids side tangents, gives concrete time estimates, and highlights finished work. The style stays on for the rest of the session until you say "stop adhd mode".

Great for

  • People with ADHD who want short, actionable answers instead of long explanations
  • Developers who want step-by-step coding instructions with the next action clearly marked
  • Anyone who loses track of multi-step tasks between messages and wants progress restated

Skip it if

  • Readers who want long, detailed explanations: the style trims content and can hide context the reader needs
  • Situations where the agent must follow a strict output format set by another tool, since the skill's rules may conflict with it (the skill itself says the harness wins)

Try asking

  • “/i-have-adhd then: help me fix the failing login test”
  • “/i-have-adhd then: walk me through migrating this database schema step by step”
  • “/i-have-adhd then: what are my options for hosting this app?”
  • “stop adhd mode”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    i-have-adhd.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip i-have-adhd.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip i-have-adhd.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Invoke it with /i-have-adhd at the start of a session, since it persists until you turn it off with "stop adhd mode".
  • Ask for "explain" or "walk me through" when you need full detail, because the skill lets longer answers through for those requests.
  • If you use a task or plan tool in your agent, the skill asks the agent to use it for multi-step work, so check the checklist rather than prose recaps.
