What it does
When this skill is installed, the agent knows the standard checklist for making sure a website automatically sends visitors from the insecure http:// address to the secure https:// address. It can explain why this matters, test whether a site's redirect works (including that the path and query string are kept and that a permanent 301 status is used), suggest server or CDN configuration fixes, and review related settings. The skill is written as guidance and does not itself contain code that runs.
Great for
- Web developers checking a site's HTTPS setup before launch
- Site owners or IT staff auditing whether old http links still land on insecure pages
- Students learning why HTTPS redirects and HSTS matter
Skip it if
- Testing a live site's security in depth: the skill gives checking steps but does not perform scans, so results depend on the agent actually running commands like curl and on the user's access to the server.
- Sites where the redirect is handled by a platform the user cannot configure, since the fix instructions assume control of the web server or CDN.
Try asking
- “Check whether http://example.com redirects to https://example.com with a 301 and keeps the full path.”
- “Review my nginx config and tell me if all HTTP traffic is redirected to HTTPS.”
- “Explain the difference between a 301 and a 302 redirect for HTTPS and when to add HSTS.”
- “Give me the curl commands to verify my HTTP-to-HTTPS redirect is working.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the exact domain to test so it can run the curl check and report the status code and Location header.
- Share your web server or CDN config file so the agent can review it against the checklist rather than giving generic advice.
- Once the redirect works, ask the agent about adding HSTS, but test carefully first because HSTS is hard to undo.
