What it does
This skill gives an AI agent architectural guidance for running coding agents in remote sandboxes instead of on a user's own machine. It covers pre-built environment images, warm pools of ready sandboxes, filesystem snapshots, per-user git attribution, and agents that spawn sub-sessions. It also includes a Python sketch of sandbox lifecycle classes that is explicitly labelled pseudocode to adapt to a platform such as Modal or Fly.io.
Great for
- Engineers designing a background or cloud coding agent service that must start sessions quickly
- Teams building multi-client agent backends (Slack, web, browser extension) that share one server
- Architects planning parallel agent sessions across many repositories
Skip it if
- Simple local agent use or one-off scripts, since the skill assumes a hosted multi-user infrastructure and adds unnecessary complexity
- Anyone expecting a ready-to-run deployment: sandbox_manager.py is pseudocode and will not run against a real provider unchanged
- Autonomous research loops, sub-agent topology or tool design, which the skill itself says belong to other skills
Try asking
- “Design a warm pool and image rebuild schedule so coding sessions start in under a few seconds for our 500k-line monorepo”
- “Explain how to attribute agent commits to the prompting user rather than the GitHub app”
- “Plan an agent-spawn tool with start, status and continue primitives for parallel PRs across repos”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip hosted-agents.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip hosted-agents.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Treat the script as an architecture reference and replace its stubs with your provider's real APIs before relying on it
- Ask the agent to focus on one layer (sandbox, API, or client) at a time, since the skill recommends keeping them separate
- Review the token handling in UserIdentity carefully, since the sketch stores GitHub tokens in plain dataclass fields
