What it does

This skill gives an AI agent a checklist for setting up vanity domains on Cloudflare: creating the zone, pointing nameservers at Cloudflare, adding placeholder DNS records, configuring a redirect, and checking the result with dig and curl. It does not contain the logic itself; it tells the agent to read the author's private notes in a separate ~/Projects/manager repository and run the helper scripts stored there (such as bin/namecheap-set-ns and bin/cloudflare-ai-bots). It is written for one person's setup and assumes that repository exists.

Great for

  • Developers who manage many domains on Cloudflare and keep their own runbook repo with the same layout
  • Someone who wants an agent to follow a repeatable DNS-and-redirect checklist with verification steps after each change

Skip it if

  • Anyone without the ~/Projects/manager repository: the skill points to files and scripts that are not included, so it will not work on its own
  • Changing live DNS or nameservers without review: the steps run real registrar and Cloudflare commands that can take sites offline, and the skill's own guidance is to prefer reversible steps and verify each change

Try asking

  • “Set up a new vanity domain on Cloudflare and redirect it to my main site”
  • “Check whether example.com's nameservers point at Cloudflare and verify its HTTPS 301 redirect”
  • “Turn off the Cloudflare 'Block AI bots' setting for one of my zones”
  • “Commit and review my latest changes to the domain mapping and redirect worker in the manager repo”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    domain-dns-ops.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip domain-dns-ops.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip domain-dns-ops.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Before running anything, check which registrar the domain uses; the skill warns that many 'invalid nameservers' errors are really a wrong-registrar issue
  • Keep the Cloudflare token scoped and exported only for a single command, as the skill instructs, and review git diff before any commit
  • Ask the agent to stop before any git push, since the skill only pushes when explicitly asked
