What it does
When installed, the agent checks article and blog pages for dates shown to readers and for machine-readable date data (JSON-LD and Open Graph tags) that search engines use to show correct publication and update dates. It can generate the markup and advise on making a CMS update the modified date automatically. It is a checklist-style guide: it explains what to look for and gives example code, rather than running tools on your site.
Great for
- Site owners or SEO staff reviewing blog or news article templates for missing date markup
- Front-end developers adding Article structured data to a CMS or static site
- Content teams who want visible, trustworthy publication and update dates
Skip it if
- Sites that are not article or blog content, where article date markup does not apply
- Pages where a 'modified' date would be changed for trivial edits, since that misleads readers and search engines (the skill itself warns against this)
- Expecting guaranteed ranking gains: the skill's own claims about freshness are general and not verified by the files
Try asking
- “Audit my blog post template for datePublished and dateModified in JSON-LD”
- “Generate Article JSON-LD with ISO 8601 dates for this post”
- “Check whether our CMS template shows the publication date to readers”
- “Add article:published_time and article:modified_time Open Graph tags to the head of this page”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the page HTML or template code so it can check the byline, JSON-LD and head tags directly.
- Ask it to make dateModified update automatically in your CMS or build rather than hand-editing dates.
- Validate generated JSON-LD with a structured data testing tool before publishing, as the skill does not perform validation itself.
