What it does

This skill is a bookkeeping step for a 'predict before you publish' workflow. After you post a piece of content, the agent asks for or detects the link, works out the platform from the URL pattern (YouTube, Bilibili, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, WeChat, Substack, Medium, X), and writes the publish time and link into the metadata header of the matching prediction file. It then updates a state file that tracks the publish and schedules a review for later. The skill is explicitly designed never to edit the prediction text itself, so the record of what was predicted stays intact.

Great for

  • Creators who use the cheat-on-content prediction workflow and want to log each post cleanly
  • Developers who want an example of a small, metadata-only skill that updates files with strict edit boundaries
  • Teams tracking publish dates and platform IDs across many short-form videos

Skip it if

  • Anyone who wants automatic performance data collection: the skill deliberately does not fetch views or likes, and most platforms need a logged-in session it does not handle
  • Users outside the cheat-on-content system: it depends on its prediction files, state file and sibling skills (cheat-shoot, cheat-retro, cheat-status), which are not included in this file alone

Try asking

  • “I just published https://youtu.be/xxxx, please log it against my latest prediction”
  • “已发布 https://v.douyin.com/abc123 — 登记一下”
  • “Publish registered for the Bilibili video, the time was 14:30 today”
  • “Mark the post as shipped on Substack and schedule a review for three days from now”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    cheat-publish.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip cheat-publish.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip cheat-publish.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the full post URL so the platform is detected automatically; short share links may leave the platform-specific ID as 'pending' until the review step resolves it.
  • Confirm the publish time when asked, or accept the default of now, so the review schedule is correct.
  • Run the cheat-shoot step before publishing so the video folder and buffer count stay accurate.
