What it does
When installed, the agent reviews your CSS for specificity conflicts, such as overuse of !important, deeply nested selectors, and inline styles used to override components. It can recommend or write an explicit @layer order (reset, base, components, utilities) so that later layers win regardless of selector weight or import order. It is guidance for a CSS codebase rather than a standalone tool.
Great for
- Front-end developers maintaining a large CSS codebase with recurring override bugs
- Teams setting up a design system who want a predictable layer order
- Teams migrating from utility-first or specificity-heavy CSS to a layered architecture
Skip it if
- Small projects with little CSS, where the setup cost outweighs the benefit
- Browsers or build setups that do not support cascade layers, since the layered output may not behave as expected there (the skill's files do not cover compatibility)
Try asking
- “Review this stylesheet for specificity problems and tell me where !important is hiding conflicts.”
- “Set up a @layer stack for reset, base, components and utilities in our main CSS file.”
- “Help me migrate our existing component styles into cascade layers without breaking the current look.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Point the agent at your main CSS entry file so it can see the import order before proposing a layer stack.
- Migrate gradually: unlayered styles currently win, so move one area at a time and test visually.
- Ask for the reasoning as well as the changes, so you can check why a layer order was chosen.
