What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent to review a web page for Article structured data, the hidden machine-readable labels that tell search engines what a post or news story is, who wrote it, and when it was published. Once installed, the agent checks that the markup uses types such as Article, NewsArticle or BlogPosting, includes required fields like headline, image, datePublished and author, and is written as JSON-LD. It also advises checking the rendered HTML and HTTP response, not only source files.
Great for
- Website or blog owners who want their articles eligible for rich results such as Top Stories or Google Discover
- Front-end developers reviewing SEO templates for article pages
- SEO specialists auditing metadata and crawlability on content sites
Skip it if
- Sites with no article or blog content, where Article markup does not apply
- Anyone expecting guaranteed rankings: structured data helps eligibility but does not ensure visibility, and the skill itself makes no such promise beyond general claims
- Situations needing live verification in search consoles: the skill is based on its text files and does not itself test a live URL
Try asking
- “Audit the article template in this project and tell me if the JSON-LD includes headline, image, datePublished and author.”
- “Review the rendered HTML of my blog post pages for valid Article structured data.”
- “Explain how NewsArticle versus BlogPosting markup would affect my pages in search results.”
- “Find which routes in this Next.js app are missing Article schema and suggest a fix.”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Point the agent at specific templates or routes so it can flag exact places where markup is wrong.
- Ask it to verify the final rendered page output, then confirm with Google's Rich Results Test or Search Console, which the skill does not run itself.
- Provide the page URL or HTML so the agent can check the real output rather than guessing from source files.
