What it does

Once installed, the agent can collect public engagement data (likes, comments, views, post and reel performance, hashtags, ads and follower counts) from major social platforms by running third-party scrapers hosted on Apify, a paid web-scraping service. It picks a suitable scraper, asks about output format and size, runs a bundled Node.js script that calls Apify's API, and then summarises which content performed best and exports the results as a quick chat answer, CSV or JSON file. The skill also tells the agent not to claim ROI, spend or reach from public engagement counts alone.

Great for

  • Marketers comparing post or reel engagement across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok
  • Creators reviewing which videos or posts performed best over a set period
  • Analysts who need a bounded, timestamped export of public social metrics

Skip it if

  • Measuring true campaign ROI, ad spend, revenue or impressions: the skill explicitly says public engagement cannot establish these, and they need first-party data
  • Collecting private group data or personal contact details of users: the skill forbids this and it raises privacy and platform-terms risks
  • Users without an Apify account and paid credits: each run can incur charges and the token must be set up locally

Try asking

  • “Compare engagement rates of my last 50 Instagram posts and tell me which formats worked best”
  • “Export the top 100 TikTok videos for the hashtag #sustainability to a dated CSV”
  • “Pull YouTube Shorts performance for our channel and summarise next steps”
  • “Show me the five most recent Facebook ad results for a competitor page in chat”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Content Analytics via ApifyInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    apify-content-analytics.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip apify-content-analytics.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip apify-content-analytics.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Start with a small result limit (for example 20 items) to check the Actor's schema and cost before a large run
  • Give the agent the observation window, engagement-rate denominator and format you want, so the analysis is comparable
  • Check the Apify Console run ID before retrying a timeout to avoid being charged twice
