What it does
When installed, the agent knows how to wrap an existing script, CLI tool, or Crawlee/SDK project so it runs on the Apify cloud platform as an Actor, a container that takes structured JSON input and can return structured JSON results. The agent walks through steps such as running the apify CLI, adding SDK lifecycle calls, writing input and output schema files, testing locally, and deploying with apify push. It also tells the agent to check account, license, secrets, network targets and spending limits before deploying or monetizing.
Great for
- Developers who have a scraper, crawler, or script and want to host it as a reusable Apify Actor
- Teams migrating an existing Crawlee project to the Apify platform
- Developers who want an agent to scaffold Apify SDK integration in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or CLI-based code
Skip it if
- Non-developers with no existing code to package, since the workflow assumes a working project and command-line tools
- Deploying to a real Apify account without review, because the skill can upload code, publish to the Store, and set paid charging events; these actions need explicit user approval
- Projects with unclear licensing or embedded secrets, since publishing them would expose code or credentials
Try asking
- “Convert my Python web scraper in this folder into an Apify Actor with a proper input schema”
- “Wrap this Node.js CLI tool as an Apify Actor and test it locally with sample input”
- “Migrate my existing Crawlee project to run on the Apify platform”
- “Add Pay Per Event monetization configuration to my already-deployed Actor”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Confirm the target Apify account, source license, and any secrets before running apify push, and keep API tokens out of shell history as the skill instructs.
- Pin the SDK, CLI, and base image versions you have reviewed, and test with synthetic input and a test account rather than production data.
- Review the generated .actor files and Dockerfile before deploying, and set spending or charging limits before enabling monetization.
