What it does
When installed, the agent can write starter client libraries for a REST API you point it at. It produces a folder layout with a base client (base URL, Bearer auth, timeouts), resource classes such as users or orders, typed request and response models, typed error classes, and pagination helpers, in Python or TypeScript examples. The skill also sets safety rules: no automatic retries of non-idempotent writes, redacted error messages, and a User-Agent header on every request. The output is a draft that still needs the real API contract, tests and review by a developer.
Great for
- Developers who need a first-pass SDK or API wrapper for an internal or third-party REST API
- Teams wanting consistent typed models and error classes across resources
- Engineers who want code examples showing retry, pagination and error-handling patterns
Skip it if
- Production SDKs without human review: the skill itself says drafts need the real contract, tests and language-specific review
- Non-developers with no way to run or check generated code
- APIs with binary, streaming or non-JSON responses: the skill notes these need separate handling
Try asking
- “Generate a Python client library for our REST API with users and orders resources”
- “Create TypeScript types and a fetch-based API wrapper from this OpenAPI description”
- “Write a client class with retry, timeouts and typed errors for the payments API”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent your actual API documentation or OpenAPI file so the models match real endpoints instead of the example placeholders
- Ask for tests alongside the generated client and run them before using the code
- Review authentication, retry and redirect handling yourself, since examples use placeholder URLs and API keys
