What it does
When installed, the agent acts like a senior integration engineer whenever you ask it to connect to an external API. It first asks discovery questions (which API, auth method, rate limits, error handling, environment), then produces an architecture outline covering authentication, retries, rate limiting, and logging. It can also generate a Python API client template that includes retries with backoff, concurrency limits, and structured logs. The skill is instruction text plus a code template; it does not itself contain scripts.
Great for
- Developers wiring a third-party REST or GraphQL API into an app and wanting a resilient client by default
- Engineers debugging an existing integration with retry, timeout, or rate-limit problems
- Teams who want a written integration design (auth, error handling, observability) before coding
Skip it if
- Non-developers who just want to call an API once: the skill assumes Python and an engineering workflow
- Production systems handling sensitive credentials without review: the template passes API keys as bearer headers and the agent may write code that needs careful secret handling
- Quick scripts where the discovery questions add unnecessary overhead
Try asking
- “Design an integration architecture for the Stripe payments API with OAuth2 and webhook handling”
- “Write a Python async client for our internal inventory REST API with retries and rate-limit handling”
- “Debug why my GraphQL integration returns 429 errors intermittently and suggest a fix”
- “Review my webhook receiver for authentication and idempotency gaps”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the API's documentation URL and rate-limit details up front so it skips guessing during discovery
- Keep real secrets in environment variables or a vault, not in code the agent generates
- Review generated retry logic against the provider's documented idempotency rules before relying on it for writes
