What it does
Once installed, the agent knows the step-by-step procedure for working with Amplitude, a product analytics tool. It can send tracking events, look up a user's activity history, set user properties, and list or update cohorts (saved groups of users), using Composio's Amplitude connector via the Rube MCP service. It tells the agent to check current tool schemas first and to avoid common mistakes such as using the wrong user ID type or sending timestamps in seconds instead of milliseconds. The skill itself contains no code; the actual actions run through the external Rube service and your connected Amplitude account.
Great for
- Analysts who want an agent to pull a specific user's event history or look up users by email or ID
- Product or growth teams that need to add or remove users from behavioral cohorts through an agent
- Developers testing event tracking by having an agent send sample events to Amplitude
Skip it if
- Anyone who wants to run it without an account: it needs a Rube MCP connection and an authorised Amplitude account, and it cannot work offline
- Production pipelines writing live customer data: the skill sends and modifies real analytics and cohort data, and mistakes (wrong user ID, $set overwriting values, bulk cohort changes) can corrupt records, so review before running
- Users expecting immediate results: events and property changes are processed asynchronously, so data may not appear in queries right away
Try asking
- “Send a purchase event for user 12345 with a price property to Amplitude”
- “Find the Amplitude internal ID for the user with email jane@example.com and show her last 20 events”
- “List my saved cohorts and add these three user IDs to the 'Trial users' cohort”
- “Show me the event categories configured in Amplitude so I can check my event names”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Always let the agent run the connection check first and confirm the Amplitude connection is ACTIVE before any workflow
- Ask the agent to show a dry-run summary of user IDs or cohort changes before it applies them
- Use a test or sandbox Amplitude project when first trying event sends or cohort membership updates
