What it does

This is a reviewed pointer to an external package that lets an AI agent (such as Claude Code) turn an article, notes, or a finished script into a solo podcast episode with a consistent host voice and an MP3 you can publish. The synthesis is done on the paid, hosted Beatra service, so your script and any uploaded files are sent to a third party. The agent is instructed to show a cost estimate and wait for explicit approval before every paid call.

Great for

  • Podcasters who are willing to pay per episode for hosted AI voice synthesis
  • People who already accept sending scripts to a third-party service
  • Teams wanting a repeatable host voice for short solo episodes

Skip it if

  • Anyone wanting free or fully local text-to-speech: the skill itself says not to use it for local TTS, and it requires paid hosted synthesis (risk: unexpected charges).
  • Confidential or unpublished material you do not want uploaded to an external service (risk: data leaves your machine).
  • Users who cannot review installed Python scripts and a browser sign-in flow (risk: the install adds executable code and stores a bearer token).

Try asking

  • “Turn this article into a 5-minute solo podcast episode with my host voice”
  • “Convert my show notes into an MP3 and show me the cost estimate first”
  • “Check that my AI Podcast Voiceover connection works before generating anything”
Step-by-step guide: how to use AI Podcast VoiceoverInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    ai-podcast-voiceover.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip ai-podcast-voiceover.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip ai-podcast-voiceover.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run the documented review steps yourself and read every file in the pinned tree before activating it; the entry itself warns that grep output is not a source review.
  • Ask the agent for the free discovery/cost card first and approve only one exact payload at a time.
  • Avoid uploading sensitive scripts; keep the install directory and bearer token under your own control and remove them with the uninstall script when finished.
