What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent to investigate a failed automated test run for the Agent QA system without guessing. The agent pulls the run's status, steps, screenshots or other artifacts, and logs through the Agent QA tool interface, then picks one failure category (such as timeout, element not found, or infrastructure) and reports its confidence, likely owner, and a next step backed by the evidence it found.

Great for

  • QA engineers or developers who need to quickly understand why an Agent QA test run failed
  • Teams deciding whether a failure belongs to the test itself, the product, the browser or mobile runtime, or infrastructure
  • People comparing several recent failed runs to spot a recurring pattern

Skip it if

  • Projects that do not use the Agent QA service, since the MCP tools and run data it relies on will be unavailable
  • Users who want the agent to automatically fix code or tests; the skill explicitly does not modify code and hands off repairs to a separate skill
  • Situations where the run artifacts or logs were not retained, because the classification will be low confidence and can mislead

Try asking

  • “Why did run 4821 fail? Triage it and tell me the category, confidence and next action.”
  • “Check the logs and steps for my interrupted checkout test and tell me whether this is a test problem or a product problem.”
  • “Compare my last five failed runs of the login suite and look for a recurring failure pattern.”
  • “Triage this Appium startup failure and list the evidence you relied on.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Agent QA Result TriageInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    agent-qa-result-triage.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip agent-qa-result-triage.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip agent-qa-result-triage.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent the run ID or a link to the failed run so it can fetch the exact evidence.
  • Ask the agent to state which evidence was missing, since gaps in artifacts reduce how far the classification can be trusted.
  • Once triage is done, ask for the follow-up fix using the agent-qa-debug-fix skill rather than letting triage change code.
