What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent to check websites or source code for accessibility problems, such as content that screen readers or keyboard users cannot use, based on the WCAG 2.2 standard. In report mode it reads the code or a live page and writes a prioritized written report without editing anything. In fix mode it audits, makes scoped code edits, and re-audits to confirm the problems are gone. It prefers inspecting the live rendered page in a browser, then falls back to analysing HTML strings.

Great for

  • Front-end developers who want a prioritized list of accessibility problems in a component library or page
  • Teams preparing for an accessibility review who need a written report with rule IDs and fixes
  • Developers who already have an accessibility violation report and want the agent to apply and verify the fixes

Skip it if

  • Certifying that a site is WCAG conformant: the skill states that automated checks cover only part of WCAG and that manual review (screen reader, keyboard, low-vision testing) is still needed
  • Auditing authenticated or sensitive pages without authorization, since live-DOM mode uses a browser session that may contain private data
  • Unattended bulk edits of a large codebase: fix mode edits files, and whole-codebase sweeps are discouraged

Try asking

  • “Audit src/components/ and give me an accessibility report with prioritized issues”
  • “Audit and fix the accessibility issues on http://localhost:3000/checkout”
  • “Make this HTML form accessible and verify the contrast fix worked”
  • “Review this page for WCAG 2.2 problems and tell me what needs manual testing”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    accesslint-audit.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip accesslint-audit.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip accesslint-audit.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Start in report mode to review findings before asking for fixes, since fix mode edits files
  • Give a specific directory, file list or URL rather than the whole codebase to keep results focused
  • Treat the Source: locators and engine fix suggestions as hints and check them against your current code and manual testing
