SEO content brief

Build a writer-ready SEO brief from your own SERP research: intent, angle, outline, questions to answer, evidence to include and what to avoid.

You'll need: Notes from reviewing the current top search results for the keyword (titles, angles, formats, gaps) · Keyword data from your SEO tool if you have it
  1. 1Research the results page yourself

Search the keyword in a private window. For the top 5-8 results, note the title, format (guide, list, tool, product page), the angle and what's missing. Also note 'People also ask' questions. Models without live browsing can't see today's results, so this input is what keeps the brief grounded.

Example input

Keyword: how to price a cleaning business. Differentiator: pricing data from 2,000 businesses on our platform.

Example output

Intent: informational with commercial undertones; readers want a number and a method. Baseline: hourly vs flat-rate explanation and a formula. Gap: no result shows real price ranges by region or job type. Recommended angle: "What 2,000 cleaning businesses actually charge (and how to set your price)". Outline excerpt H2 What cleaning businesses actually charge in 2026 H3 Median hourly rates by region [our data table] H2 Flat rate vs hourly: which earns more? Answers PAA: "Is it better to charge by the hour or by the job?"

Troubleshooting

  • The model invents competitor content: make sure it works only from your SERP notes; tell it 'If it's not in my notes, say unknown.'
  • Outline mirrors competitors exactly: ask for at least two sections no competitor covers, tied to your differentiator.

Known limitations

  • No search volume or difficulty data unless you provide it; the model can't measure rankings.
  • Search features and rankings change; refresh SERP notes before updating old content.
  • Content written to a brief still needs genuine expertise and editing to be helpful and to perform.
