Product photography prompt pack

Five proven product-shot setups (e-commerce white, lifestyle, flat lay, macro detail, dramatic hero) as reusable prompts with the same product description locked in.

You'll need: A clear description or reference photo of the product

Fill in your details

Values are inserted into every prompt below. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

5 field(s) left — unfilled variables stay as {{placeholders}}.

  1. 1E-commerce white background

For marketplace listings. Many marketplaces require a pure white background and the product filling most of the frame; check your marketplace's rules.

Professional e-commerce product photo of {{product}}, {{material}}, centred on a pure white seamless background, product fills about 85% of the frame, soft even lighting from two large softboxes at 45 degrees, subtle natural contact shadow beneath, true-to-life colour, sharp focus front to back, no props, no text, aspect ratio {{aspect_ratio}}.
  2. 2Lifestyle in context

Show the product being used where the customer would use it. Keep the product as the sharpest element in the frame.

Lifestyle product photograph of {{product}}, {{material}}, in use in {{setting}}, natural window light from the side, shallow depth of field with the product in sharp focus and the background softly blurred, props in {{brand_colors}} tones that don't compete with the product, authentic and uncluttered, editorial magazine style, aspect ratio {{aspect_ratio}}.
  3. 3Flat lay

Good for kits, bundles and social posts. Specify how many supporting items; otherwise models overcrowd the frame.

Top-down flat lay photograph, {{product}} as the central hero, surrounded by three or four complementary items arranged with even spacing, on a textured surface in {{brand_colors}}, soft diffused overhead light, minimal shadows, clean geometric composition with breathing room around each item, aspect ratio {{aspect_ratio}}.
  4. 4Macro detail

Sells quality: stitching, texture, finish. Useful as the second or third image in a listing.

Extreme close-up macro photograph of the {{material}} on {{product}}, showing fine surface texture and craftsmanship, raking light from a low angle to bring out texture, very shallow depth of field, rich detail, neutral background, aspect ratio {{aspect_ratio}}.
  5. 5Dramatic hero shot

For banners and launch pages. Low-key lighting and negative space leave room for a headline.

Dramatic hero product shot of {{product}}, {{material}}, on a dark reflective surface, low-key lighting with a strong rim light outlining the silhouette and a soft key light from upper left, subtle haze in the background, deep shadows, generous negative space on the right for a headline, premium advertising style, aspect ratio {{aspect_ratio}}.

Example input

Ceramic pour-over dripper, glossy speckled cream glaze, raw clay base; terracotta and oatmeal brand colours; 4:5.

Example output

Hero shot result (expected): the dripper on dark slate, a thin warm rim light tracing the curved edge, faint steam haze behind, right third of the frame empty for a headline. Typical issues: the speckle pattern may be too regular, and the raw clay base is sometimes rendered glazed; regenerate or fix with an edit pass.

Troubleshooting

  • Product details are wrong: use your real photo as an image reference, or generate the scene only and composite the real product photo in.
  • Background isn't pure white: ask for 'pure white #FFFFFF background' and clean it up with a background-removal tool.
  • Midjourney adds extra props: add '--no props, text' (Midjourney's negative parameter) or state 'no other objects'.

Known limitations

  • Generated images may not represent your product accurately; marketplaces and advertising rules generally require images that accurately depict what you sell.
  • Aspect ratio syntax differs by tool (e.g. a parameter in Midjourney, a setting in others).
