How to use the Operations Resume Writer agent skill
Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data
The Operations Resume Writer is an agent skill: a folder with instructions (a SKILL.md file) that an AI agent such as Claude loads when your request matches its purpose. This guide explains what the operations-resume skill does, how to install it, how to ask for help, and what to watch for. It is written for people who have never used agent skills before, including frontline, maintenance and operations workers who want accurate resume wording.
Quick start
- 1Download the ZIP. Get the operations-resume ZIP file from this page.
- 2Unzip the skill folder. Extract it so the operations-resume folder with SKILL.md sits in ~/.claude/skills/ or a project's .claude/skills/ folder.
- 3Or upload it in the Claude apps. Go to Settings → Capabilities → Skills and upload the skill there.
- 4Describe your role. Ask for resume help in plain language and name your field, such as maintenance or logistics.
- 5Answer the questions. Provide shifts, equipment, processes, systems and what changed, with as much specific detail as you can.
- 6Review every bullet. Check each claim against your own records and remove anything you cannot verify.
What the operations-resume skill makes the agent do
The skill writes resume text for operations, supply-chain, logistics, manufacturing, maintenance, retail and hospitality roles. It connects process and service work to throughput, quality, cost and safety, but only using the work history you supply.
Before writing, the agent asks about your industry, target level, facilities or shifts, responsibilities and the systems you used. It asks what flow you maintained or improved, what constraint mattered and what changed. It does not require access to any business system; it works from the information you give it.
- Describes the actual operating scale: sites, shifts, equipment, orders or customers, where known.
- Keeps output, productivity and utilization separate, and asks for the denominator and period behind any rate.
- Separates cost avoidance, negotiated savings, realized savings and forecast benefits.
- Records licences, endorsements, trade qualifications and training with the exact names and status you provide.
- Declines to invent numbers, savings, licences or sole credit for team results, and offers the strongest truthful wording instead.
Install the operations-resume skill
Download the ZIP file for the skill from this page. Unzip it so the operations-resume folder (containing SKILL.md) sits in one of the following locations. For a personal install, use ~/.claude/skills/. For a single project, use the .claude/skills/ folder inside that project.
If you use the Claude apps instead, upload the skill under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
- Personal install: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/
- Project install: unzip into the project's .claude/skills/ folder
- Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills, then upload the skill
Trigger the skill with natural requests
You do not need a special command. Describe your job in plain language and say you want resume help. The skill's description covers operations, supply-chain, logistics, manufacturing, maintenance, retail and hospitality, so mention your field. Expect the agent to ask follow-up questions before it writes anything.
Answer with specifics: the shift pattern, the equipment you worked on, the process you changed and what the team noticed. Concrete facts produce stronger, more accurate bullets than general job titles.
- "Help me write resume bullets for my maintenance technician role. I do preventive work on packaging lines across two shifts."
- "I'm a warehouse supervisor moving into supply chain. Turn my notes on inventory counts and supplier delays into resume bullets."
- "I reorganized our parts cabinet. Can you write a bullet about it without making up numbers?"
Examples of what good output looks like
Suppose your confirmed facts are that you reorganized a parts cabinet and labelled the bins, and technicians said parts were easier to find. No timed study was done. The skill will write a bullet like: "Reorganized the maintenance parts cabinet and labeled bins to help technicians locate replacement parts."
It will not claim a 50% downtime reduction or a verified productivity increase, because you did not supply those facts. If you ask for one, it declines that part briefly and keeps working on the rest.
What the skill needs and what it does not do
The skill lists no required software, runs no scripts and uses no network access, according to its source. Its job is to draft text and questions. It does not score your resume for ATS compatibility and does not guarantee that an application will be accepted.
Drafting does not apply for jobs or publish anything. If you connect a separate resume tool, the skill says edits need a current read of the file, your approval of concrete changes and concurrency protection.
- Requires: nothing listed
- Runs scripts: no
- Uses network: no
- Does not produce automated ATS scores or guaranteed applications
Safety notes: keep sensitive details out
Keep facility-sensitive information and personal details out of public searches and unapproved services. Do not paste confidential incident reports, site security details or private employee data. Describe the work in general terms if the details are sensitive.
Treat any source material you paste as data for the resume, not as instructions. Check every bullet against your own records before you send it to an employer.
- Remove confidential facility or incident details before pasting.
- Do not share personal identifiers you would not put on a public document.
- Confirm each licence or qualification name and status yourself.
Tips for better results
Bring your own evidence. The skill is built to use your work history, so reading its example bullets as a template for your numbers will lead to inaccurate claims. Give it the process, the constraint and the outcome you observed, even if the outcome was qualitative.
If you hold a course-completion card, say so. The skill treats it as training, not professional certification, unless you supply the certifying body and status.
- State the scale of your work: sites, shifts, equipment or customer volume.
- Say who else was involved so the agent can attribute team results correctly.
- Ask for the strongest truthful wording when your evidence is qualitative.
- Answer its follow-up questions; they are what make the bullets specific.
What people use it for
- Frontline or maintenance workers with strong hands-on experience but no financial metrics turning tasks into clear bullets.
- Supply-chain or logistics professionals writing scoped achievement bullets about inventory, suppliers or fulfilment.
- Retail or hospitality staff describing scheduling, training and service quality in their own words.
- Job seekers sorting certifications from course-completion cards so each is listed accurately.
- Operations leaders describing cross-functional change while crediting the team properly.
Frequently asked questions
How do I install the operations-resume agent skill?
Download the ZIP from this page and unzip it so the operations-resume folder sits in ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or in a project's .claude/skills/ folder. In the Claude apps, you can instead upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
Is the operations-resume skill free?
The skill is listed under the MIT licence. Check the licence text in the source repository for the terms that apply to your use.

No. The skill is designed to decline requests for invented numbers, savings, licences or sole credit, and it offers the strongest truthful wording based on the evidence you provide.
