How to use the Find Customer Quotes agent skill
Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data
Find Customer Quotes is an agent skill, a packaged set of instructions that an AI agent such as Claude can load and follow. Once installed, it searches transcript-like material such as meeting transcripts, pasted call text, or exported call notes for things customers or prospects said about a theme, like a blocker or objection. This guide shows you how to install it, how to ask for it in plain language, and what to expect back.
Quick start
- 1Download the ZIP. Download the find-customer-quotes skill ZIP from the directory page.
- 2Unzip into a skills folder. Unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use or into .claude/skills/ inside a project.
- 3Or upload it in the Claude apps. Alternatively, upload the ZIP under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
- 4Provide transcript evidence. Connect a Meeting Transcript source or paste transcript text, exports, or call notes into the conversation.
- 5Ask for quotes by theme. Describe the theme, objection, or narrative in plain language and answer any clarifying question the agent asks.
What the skill makes the agent do
The skill finds direct, verbatim customer or prospect language about a theme. Typical themes include a feedback theme, objection, product area, use case, or sales narrative. It keeps the exact wording of each quote, checks whether the speaker is likely a customer rather than an internal teammate, and records where each quote came from.
It does not paraphrase quotes, analyse calls broadly, or publish anything. Quotes that are only paraphrased are excluded unless you explicitly ask for paraphrases, and even then they are labelled separately and never presented as verbatim.
- Verbatim quotes only, with grammar and fragments left as spoken
- Speaker role check: customer, prospect, internal seller, or unknown
- Provenance kept where available: transcript, call, date, company, speaker label, and source link
Install the find-customer-quotes skill
You can install the skill in either of two ways. Download the ZIP for the skill from the directory page and unzip it into one of these folders: ~/.claude/skills/ for your personal skills, or .claude/skills/ inside a project if you want the skill limited to that project.
Alternatively, upload the ZIP in the Claude apps under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
- Personal install: unzip into ~/.claude/skills/
- Project install: unzip into the .claude/skills/ folder of your project
- App install: upload the ZIP under Settings → Capabilities → Skills
~/.claude/skills/Trigger the skill with natural requests
You do not need a special command. Ask in plain language for verbatim customer quotes, voice-of-customer evidence, objection evidence, or support for a product area or sales narrative. The skill's description covers requests like these, so phrasing such as 'find customer quotes about' a theme usually works.
If your request is vague, the skill asks you to choose before it searches. For example, a bare 'Find customer quotes for me' gets three options: use the most common blocker from recent Meeting Transcript evidence, use a theme you specify, or use a specific transcript or call set you provide. A broad request about the most common blocker in recent customer calls is handled the same way.
Examples of requests that work well
Specific requests produce the best results because the skill can search for a clear theme and set of intent terms such as pain point, blocker, request, limitation, or need. Include a time window, company, or segment if you have one, and the skill will apply it only when you have supplied or confirmed it.
Dates are read as follows: explicit dates are used as given, 'last month' means the trailing 30 days unless you say 'last calendar month', and 'last quarter' uses calendar meaning.
- Find customer quotes about onboarding delays from the last 60 days
- Find prospect objections about pricing from the transcripts I pasted
- Find customer quotes that support our reporting narrative, using only calls with the Enterprise segment
What the skill needs to work
Transcript-like evidence is required. The skill can use a Meeting Transcript connector if you have one, or text you supply yourself, such as transcripts, exports, or call notes. CRM, account summaries, public research, internal notes, and memory can narrow the scope, for example by account or segment, but they are never used as quote sources.
If no transcript-like material is available, the skill asks you for a transcript export, pasted transcript text, a recording export with text, or grounded call notes.
- Required: a Meeting Transcript connector or your own transcript text, exports, or call notes
- Optional: a CRM connector to filter by account or segment
- Optional: the ask_user_input tool or an equivalent for clarification prompts
Safety notes: scripts and network access
The skill does not run scripts. It does use the network, because it searches connected Meeting Transcript sources when those are available. Review which connectors you have enabled before you use it on sensitive calls.
Quotes that are sensitive or could identify a customer still need human approval. The skill does not review how quotes may be used publicly, and legal or compliance review is outside its scope.
- Runs scripts: no
- Uses network: yes, for connected transcript sources
- Sensitive or customer-identifying quotes need human approval
- Legal or compliance review of public use is excluded
Tips for better quote sets
The skill defaults to five quotes per theme and processes many themes in small batches. It keeps a quote only when customer confidence is at least 0.8 and theme relevance is at least 0.75. If coverage is thin, it prefers fewer quotes over lowering customer confidence, and it may lower theme relevance only slightly, to about 0.65, when speaker evidence stays strong.
Expect a readable grouped summary by default. JSON is returned only when you ask for it or when another tool will consume the output. If no candidate passes the customer threshold, the skill reports 0 of the target count rather than filling the set with internal or unknown speakers.
- Name one theme per request for the cleanest results
- Paste the transcript text directly when you do not have a connector
- Expect fewer quotes rather than weaker speaker evidence
What people use it for
- Sales teams backing a pitch with real customer wording about a blocker
- Product managers checking whether a pain point comes up repeatedly across customer calls
- Marketers collecting voice-of-customer evidence with clear attribution to the call and speaker
- Customer success teams gathering prospect objections about a specific product area
Frequently asked questions
How do I install the find-customer-quotes skill?
Download the skill ZIP from the directory page and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or into .claude/skills/ in a project. In the Claude apps you can instead upload the ZIP under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
Is the find-customer-quotes skill free?
The skill is published under the MIT licence. The source does not list any price, so check the directory page for any cost details before you rely on it.
What do I need to run find-customer-quotes?
You need transcript-like evidence. That means a Meeting Transcript connector or your own transcript text, exports, or call notes. A CRM connector is optional, and the ask_user_input tool or an equivalent is optional for clarification prompts.
Why won't the skill use my CRM notes as quotes?
CRM notes, account summaries, internal notes, memory, and public research can narrow the scope, but they are never valid quote sources. Only transcript-like material counts as evidence.
Does the skill run scripts or access the internet?
It does not run scripts. It does use the network, for example when it searches a connected Meeting Transcript source.
What should I do if the skill returns fewer quotes than I asked for?
The skill prefers fewer quotes over weaker speaker evidence. Fewer results usually mean the transcripts lack clear customer statements on that theme, so try a different theme, a broader time window, or additional transcripts.

Our verdict
Use this skill if you need verbatim customer or prospect wording with a clear record of who said it and where, for a pitch, a product validation, or marketing evidence. Pick something else if you need legal review of public use, broad call analytics, or quotes with no transcript behind them, since the skill excludes or refuses those.
