How to use the C-Level Advisory Bundle Index agent skill
Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data
c-level-skills is an index skill for the c-level-advisor bundle, a set of 33 agent skills that simulate advice from C-suite executives such as CEO, CFO, CTO and CMO. It is not an advisor itself: it is a map that tells your agent what the bundle contains and where to start. This guide explains what an agent skill is, how to install this one, and how to ask for the right entry point so you can see what the bundle offers before you rely on any of it.
Quick start
- 1Get the ZIP. Download the c-level-skills ZIP from this page.
- 2Unzip into a skills folder. Unzip it into ~/.claude/skills/ for all projects, or into a project's .claude/skills/ folder for one project.
- 3Or upload in the Claude apps. In the Claude apps, go to Settings → Capabilities → Skills and upload the skill there.
- 4Install the full bundle. Add the rest of the c-level-advisor bundle, since the index only routes to skills that must be present alongside it.
- 5Run the onboarding interview. Start with /cs-onboard setup so your company context is captured for the advisors.
- 6Ask a routing question. Describe a business question in plain language and ask which advisor or board meeting fits it.
What is an agent skill, and what does this one do?
An agent skill is a folder containing a SKILL.md file that gives a compatible AI agent instructions for a specific task. When the skill is installed, the agent can read these instructions and follow them when your request matches the skill's description.
The c-level-skills skill is the bundle index. Once installed, the agent can explain which of the 33 bundle skills fits a business question, point you to the onboarding interview that captures your company context, and describe how multi-role board meeting deliberations are structured. The actual advice comes from the individual skills the index points to.
- Lists the 14 C-suite roles and the supporting orchestration, cross-cutting and culture skills
- Routes you to the right advisor for a question
- Points to the entry points: the cs-onboard interview, chief-of-staff routing and the board-meeting protocol
Install the c-level-skills skill
Download the ZIP file from this page and unzip it. To make the skill available across all your projects, place the unzipped folder in ~/.claude/skills/. To limit it to one project, place it in that project's .claude/skills/ folder.
If you use the Claude apps instead of Claude Code, you can upload the skill under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
The skill requires Claude Code or another SKILL.md-compatible agent runtime. It also needs the rest of the c-level-advisor bundle. The referenced skills are not included in this file, so the index will point you to skills you do not yet have unless you install the full bundle.
- Personal install: ~/.claude/skills/
- Project install: .claude/skills/ inside your project
- Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills
Trigger the skill with natural requests
You do not need a special command to use the index. Ask in plain language about exploring the bundle, choosing an advisor or finding an entry point. The skill's description covers requests about what the bundle contains, which advisor fits a question, and the cs-onboard interview, chief-of-staff routing and board-meeting protocol.
The index also names specific commands from the wider bundle. The onboarding interview is started with /cs-onboard setup and refreshed later with /cs-onboard update. Big decisions can be run through the board meeting with /c-level-agents:boardroom, which requires the c-level-agents plugin.
- "What is in the c-level-advisor bundle?"
- "Which advisor should I ask about raising a Series A?"
- "How do I start the company onboarding interview?"
- "How does a board meeting deliberation work?"
/cs-onboard setup
/cs-onboard update
/c-level-agents:boardroomUnderstand the recommended order of use
The index recommends three starting points. First, run the onboarding interview, which covers 7 dimensions, takes about 45 minutes and writes a file to ~/.claude/company-context.md. The index describes this as the context schema every advisor reads, so the advisors work from your company details. Refresh it quarterly.
Second, ask the chief-of-staff skill to route a question to the right advisor or advisors. Third, for big decisions, use the board-meeting skill. It runs six phases: context gathering, independent contributions from each role in isolation, critic analysis, synthesis, founder review, and decision extraction. The founder review step is a full stop, so you make the final call.
Decisions are stored in ~/.claude/decisions/ under raw and approved folders, according to the decision memory layout described in the agent-protocol skill.
- Onboard: writes ~/.claude/company-context.md
- Ask: chief-of-staff routes to one or more advisors
- Decide: board-meeting runs six phases ending in founder review
- Memory: decisions go to ~/.claude/decisions/raw and ~/.claude/decisions/approved
Know which advisor fits which question
The index lists primary roles with the questions they usually cover. A question about capital or burn rate goes to the CFO. Pipeline and sales go to the CRO, positioning to the CMO, and roadmap or product-market fit to the CPO. Architecture goes to the CTO, operations and OKRs to the COO, and people to the CHRO. Security goes to the CISO, contracts and term sheets to the General Counsel, and data strategy to the CDO. The CAIO covers AI strategy and evals, the CCO covers retention, the VPE covers delivery, and the CEO covers overall direction.
Questions that span several domains, or decisions that are hard to reverse, should go to a board meeting according to the index.
- CFO: capital and burn
- CRO: pipeline and sales
- CMO: positioning
- CPO: roadmap and product-market fit
- CTO: architecture
- COO: operations and OKRs
- CHRO: people
- CISO: security
- General Counsel: contracts and term sheets
- CDO: data strategy and training-data rights
- CAIO: AI strategy and evals
- CCO: retention and gross revenue retention
- VPE: delivery and DORA metrics
- CEO: direction
Safety, scripts and network use
This index file runs no scripts and makes no network requests. Its own job is to describe other skills. The wider bundle does contain 37 standard-library-only Python tools and 68 reference documents, and the onboarding interview writes your company details to ~/.claude/company-context.md on your machine. Read the scripts in any skill before running them if you care what they do.
The advice the bundle produces is AI-generated. For financial, legal or security decisions, have qualified professionals check it before you act.
- Runs scripts: no, for this file
- Uses network: no, for this file
- Writes locally: the onboarding interview creates ~/.claude/company-context.md
- Human review: check financial, legal and security guidance with qualified professionals
What people use it for

Frequently asked questions
Is c-level-skills free to use?
The skill is released under the MIT licence, as stated in its metadata. Check the licence file in the repository for the full terms before redistributing it.
What do I need to run c-level-skills?
You need Claude Code or another SKILL.md-compatible agent runtime. You also need the rest of the c-level-advisor bundle, because this file only routes to other skills and does not include them.
Where do I put the c-level-skills folder?
Place it in ~/.claude/skills/ to make it available in every project, or in .claude/skills/ inside one project. In the Claude apps, upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
Does c-level-skills give business advice by itself?
No. It is an index that describes the bundle and routes questions. The advice comes from the individual advisor skills it points to, and the index is not an advisor.
How is this different from the individual advisor skills?
The index tells you which advisor to use and where to start. Each advisor skill, such as the CFO or CTO skill, contains the role-specific guidance for its area.
Why does the index mention skills I don't have?
Its references point to files in the wider bundle, such as chief-of-staff and board-meeting. These are not included in this file, so install the full c-level-advisor bundle to use them.

Our verdict
Use c-level-skills if you want to explore the c-level-advisor bundle, choose the right advisor for a question, or find the onboarding and board-meeting entry points before committing to the rest. Pick something else if you expect direct business, financial, legal or security advice from this file alone, since it only routes to other skills and its guidance should be checked by qualified professionals.
