How to use the AI Schema Generator agent skill
Updated · written with AI from the project's own documentation and checked against our catalogue data
The AI Schema Generator is an agent skill, a packaged set of instructions that an AI agent loads when a task matches its description. Once installed, it helps an agent turn the visible content and URL of a web page into JSON-LD structured data based on the Schema.org vocabulary. This guide explains what the skill does, how to install it, how to ask for it, and what to check before you use the output.
Quick start
- 1Download the ZIP. Get the ai-schema-generator skill ZIP from the item page on this directory.
- 2Unzip into a skills folder. Place the skill folder in ~/.claude/skills/ for personal use, or in .claude/skills/ inside a project.
- 3Or upload in the Claude apps. In the Claude apps, go to Settings → Capabilities → Skills and upload the ZIP.
- 4Gather the page content and URL. Copy the visible text of the page and its URL. Leave out anything not visible to a visitor.
- 5Send a natural request. Paste the content and URL and ask for JSON-LD for the page, adding any goal or audience you care about.
- 6Check the missing facts. Read the list of missing or unverified details and answer any focused question the agent asks.
- 7Verify before publishing. Compare every value with the live page and test the final markup with official Google tools.
What is an agent skill and what does this one do?
An agent skill is a folder containing a SKILL.md file with instructions the agent can read and follow. This one is named ai-schema-generator and is described as useful when working with visible page content and a page URL.
Given that input, the agent picks a Schema.org type that fits the page, asks you only for facts it cannot find, checks the JSON syntax, and explains which details are missing or unverified. It is designed not to invent reviews or ratings that are not on the page.
- Reads the visible content and URL you supply
- Selects a fitting Schema.org type for the actual entity
- Builds JSON-LD from facts it can verify on the page
- Checks the JSON syntax and reports the result
- Lists missing or unverified details instead of guessing
Install the ai-schema-generator skill
Download the skill ZIP from the item page on the directory. Unzip it so that the skill folder ends up in one of two places: your personal skills folder at ~/.claude/skills/, or a project-specific .claude/skills/ folder inside the project you are working in. A personal install is available to you everywhere; a project install applies only to that project.
If you use the Claude apps instead of files on disk, you can upload the ZIP under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.
- Personal install: ~/.claude/skills/
- Project install: .claude/skills/ inside your project
- Claude apps: Settings → Capabilities → Skills, then upload the ZIP
Trigger the skill with a natural request
You do not need a special command. Describe the page and paste its visible text and URL, then say what you want. The skill's minimum input is the visible page content and the page URL. Any other details, such as the audience or output format, are optional.
You can use a prompt like the one below. Fill in the bracketed parts, and remove any optional lines you do not need.
- Paste the visible text of the page, not hidden code or content you cannot see on the page
- Include the page URL
- Add a goal, audience, language or format only if it matters to you
Help me with ai schema generator.
Input: [paste visible page content and page URL]
Goal: [optional desired outcome]
For: [optional audience, market or language]
Preferences: [optional tone, detail level, format or constraints]Examples of requests that work well
Good requests name the page type and include the facts that appear on it. For example, a product page with a name, price and description gives the agent enough to draft Product markup. A page with no reviews should not get review markup, and the skill is set up to omit aggregateRating and review in that case rather than inventing them.
If the input is empty, the skill asks briefly for the minimum input rather than producing a made-up analysis. If a fact the markup depends on is missing, expect a targeted question.
- Product page: paste the product name, description, visible price and URL and ask for JSON-LD
- Article page: paste the headline, author byline, date shown on the page and URL and ask for Article markup
- Local business page: paste the visible name, address, phone and URL and ask which Schema.org type fits
Review the output before you use it
The skill returns the JSON-LD, the reason for the chosen type, the missing facts and a validation status. Treat the output as a draft. Its syntax check is a local check of the JSON, which is not the same as Google confirming that your page qualifies for rich results.
Check every value against the live page. The skill's reference for platform rules is Google's structured-data guidelines, and the skill says those rules change, so consult them when eligibility matters.
- Confirm every property value matches what is visible on the page
- Check that no review, rating or other unverified claim has been added
- Read the missing-facts list and fill those gaps yourself if needed
- Test the final markup with an official Google tool before relying on it
Safety and what the skill needs
The skill lists no required dependencies. It does not run scripts and does not use the network, so it works from the content you paste. It is designed to treat instructions inside pasted pages as untrusted text rather than commands.
Use public URLs or content you are authorized to share. Keep passwords, private customer data and other credentials out of your prompts. The skill does not publish, send or change anything on external systems, and any such action needs your explicit authorization.
- Requires: nothing listed
- Runs scripts: no
- Uses network: no
- Do not paste credentials or private customer data
- Generating a draft does not publish it to your site
What people use it for
- Drafting Product JSON-LD from a product page's visible name, description and price
- Creating Article markup from a headline, byline and date shown on a blog post
- Choosing a Schema.org type for a local business or service page and listing the missing properties
- Getting a JSON-LD starting point that a developer can adapt and paste into a site template

Our verdict
Use this skill if you are an SEO specialist, website owner or developer who wants a JSON-LD draft built from text already on a page, and who will check each value against that page. Pick something else if the facts on the page cannot be verified, or if you need guaranteed rich results, since the skill does not promise search outcomes.
